Awami League Cadres Trained for Political Sabotage

In a shocking turn of events, a massive political conspiracy involving over 2,500 Awami League and Chhatra League activists has been unearthed, exposing a complex web of training camps, underground coordination, and international backing all reportedly aimed at orchestrating large-scale sabotage and the eventual toppling of the current government. This high-stakes scheme has already led to the arrest of 16 individuals, including the operation’s alleged mastermind, retired military officer Major Sadekul Haque Sadek.

This discovery has sent shockwaves through Bangladesh’s political landscape, raising urgent questions about internal dissent, foreign interference, and the future of democratic stability in the country.

Coordinated Conspiracy or Political Intrigue?

According to high-level intelligence sources, clandestine training sessions were conducted at four undisclosed locations within the capital, Dhaka. The reported objective? To equip handpicked cadres with the skills needed to execute targeted sabotage and create nationwide unrest.

Major Sadek, identified as the chief coordinator, allegedly led the training initiative. Sources suggest he may have operated under the instruction of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the ICT adviser to the Prime Minister, though this claim is still under investigation.

Further fueling the conspiracy, several Awami League-affiliated leaders are believed to have facilitated the effort. Among them: Sohel Rana, a prominent Jubo League figure from Barguna; Shamima Nasrin Shampa, a Gopalganj-based Awami League leader; and Mahfuzur Rahman Riton from Meherpur. Rana and Shampa were both apprehended on July 22 in Uttara, and their interrogation led to Major Sadek’s detention under secure custody.

International Oversight: Foreign Links Under Scrutiny

Perhaps the most alarming dimension of the plot lies in its alleged international supervision. Reports indicate that former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal is remotely coordinating the movement from Salt Lake, Kolkata. He is said to be supported by ex-DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman and other influential former officials.

Additional intelligence reveals involvement from Delhi, where ex-AIGP Monirul Islam and former DGFI head Lt. Gen. Mojibur Rahman are reportedly lending strategic support, allegedly under the influence of India’s external intelligence agency, RAW. If confirmed, such cross-border collaboration would represent a grave breach of national sovereignty and regional stability.

High-Profile Venue, High-Risk Agenda

On July 8, a major training session was reportedly held at a convention center within Dhaka’s upscale Bashundhara Residential Area. Around 400 participants were instructed in sabotage techniques, cyber misinformation, and guerrilla-style tactics for mobilizing armed protests on the streets.

The most disturbing revelation? Allegedly, participants were told to await direct orders from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself to initiate armed action a claim that defies logic and raises questions about the credibility and true motivations behind the operation.

The Crackdown Begins: Shahbagh Target, Financiers Under Watch

The entire operation came to light following an investigative report titled “Awami Sabotage Plot Across the Country”, published by Amar Desh on July 28. The exposé ignited public outcry and prompted security forces to launch a rapid response crackdown, resulting in multiple arrests and intelligence raids.

Sources confirm that the activists had planned to seize control of Dhaka’s politically sensitive Shahbagh area on August 5, using both digital propaganda and physical mobilization. With that plan foiled, law enforcement agencies are now closely monitoring several high-profile business figures suspected of financing the failed coup.

Political Fallout and the Road Ahead

This unprecedented revelation is already reshaping the political narrative in Bangladesh. Is this an orchestrated attempt by government insiders to silence opposition voices through sensational allegations? Or is it the tip of a much deeper, coordinated plot against state stability?

As investigations continue, the government faces mounting pressure to ensure transparency while avoiding politically motivated crackdowns. Meanwhile, the opposition demands an independent probe to validate the claims and uncover the truth behind this alarming incident.
