The Holy See Press Office has announced that Pope Francis’ health continues to improve, with recent progress confirmed by medical tests. However, despite these positive developments, he will need to remain in the hospital to complete his treatment.

Stable Condition with Continued Recovery

In an update released Monday evening, the Vatican stated that the Pope’s clinical condition remains stable. His improvements in recent days have been reinforced by favorable blood test results and positive clinical findings. His response to ongoing pharmacological therapy has been encouraging, leading doctors to lift their previously cautious prognosis.

Nevertheless, the statement emphasized that due to the complexity of his health condition and the severity of the infection that required his hospitalization, he will continue receiving treatment in a hospital setting for an extended period.

Active Participation in Spiritual Exercises

Despite his hospitalization, Pope Francis remains engaged in his spiritual and pastoral duties. On Monday morning, he joined the Curia’s annual Spiritual Exercises via video link from his private apartment, following the reflections led by the Preacher of the Papal Household, Fr. Roberto Pasolini, OFM Cap., in the Paul VI Hall.

After participating remotely, the Pope received the Eucharist and spent time in personal prayer in the chapel of his private apartment. In the afternoon, he once again joined the Spiritual Exercises via video link, balancing his time between prayer and rest throughout the day.

Ongoing Prayers and Support

The Roman Curia’s Spiritual Exercises, held annually, began on Sunday afternoon and serve as a time of reflection and renewal for Vatican officials. Pope Francis’ participation, despite his health challenges, underscores his commitment to the Church’s spiritual life.

As the Holy Father continues his recovery, prayers and well wishes continue to pour in from around the world. The Vatican has assured the faithful that it will provide further updates on his condition as needed.
