Is the World Heading Toward That Historic Great Transformation?

News is coming one after another. Bombs have fallen in Iran. Khamenei is reported dead. There are threats to close the Strait of Hormuz. Missiles have reportedly struck the American naval base in Bahrain.

Seeing all this, I am almost certain that many of you are feeling something strange inside. It somehow feels like this war is not like the other regional wars. There’s an indistinct feeling—as if the world has reached a major turning point. As if it could turn that corner at any moment.

Let’s analyze.

The Turning Point: February 28, 2026

From the early dawn of February 28, history seemed to begin turning its page toward a new chapter.

America’s Operation Epic Fury and Israel’s Operation Roaring Lion reportedly began simultaneously. Attacks were carried out across twenty-four provinces of Iran. Tehran, Isfahan, Qom were burning. Ayatollah Khamenei’s compound was destroyed. This morning it was officially announced that Khamenei has died (though what truly happened remains unclear). Iranian state television declared forty days of national mourning.

Iran retaliated with ballistic missiles targeting American military bases around the Persian Gulf—in Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. Explosions were reported in Manama, Bahrain. The IRGC announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a massive portion of the world’s oil supply passes.

But the most unexpected development was something else. Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE—countries whose soil was struck by Iranian missiles—condemned Iran. They remained silent regarding the US-Israel operation.

Within that one detail lies a map of the Muslim world’s fragmentation.

If you think this is merely about oil, nuclear weapons, and geopolitics, you are seeing only one corner of the picture.

The real picture is much larger—and much deeper.

Symbolic Layers: Operation Roaring Lion and Purim Timing

Operation Roaring Lion.

Where does that name come from? Israel reportedly derived it from Hebrew Bible Numbers 23:24: “Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion… he shall not lie down until he eats the prey.”

This is not a random naming.

CNN reportedly noted that the timing of the attack was just before the Jewish festival of Purim, which falls on March 2. Purim commemorates the survival of Jews in ancient Persia—today’s Iran.

An attack on Iran—symbolically, in their historical narrative, an attack on ancient Persia.

And just before Purim.

Is this a geopolitical coincidence? Or a conscious symbolic message?

Analysts suggest the strategic logic is straightforward: the nuclear deal was frozen. Washington and Jerusalem decided negotiations were ineffective. The players must change.

But behind changing players lies a much older and larger project.

Theological and Eschatological Dimensions

To understand that, you need to know certain names.

Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense—the man responsible for the most powerful military in the world.

He has a Jerusalem Cross tattoo on his chest, a symbol associated with the Crusades of 1096 when Jerusalem was taken in the name of God. On his arm is written “Deus Vult”—“God wills it,” the rallying cry of the Crusaders.

In 2018, standing in Jerusalem, he reportedly said: “A miracle happened in 1917, a miracle happened in 1948, a miracle happened in 1967. And in our lifetime, the miracle of rebuilding the Third Temple on the Temple Mount is not impossible. I don’t know how it will happen. But I know it’s possible.”

What does rebuilding the Third Temple mean?

It would mean constructing a Jewish temple on the site where Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock stand—Islam’s third holiest site.

This is the belief system some influential figures reportedly hold.

In 2022, five red heifers were transported from Texas to Israel. According to Jewish tradition, red heifers are part of the ritual prerequisites for temple purification. The Temple Institute in Jerusalem has been preparing temple garments, vessels, and architectural designs for decades—awaiting only the clearing of the site.

Jewish tradition mentions ten red heifers; nine historically, the tenth associated with messianic times.

Hamas named its October 7 attack “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.” Some leaders referenced tensions around Temple Mount access.

These are documented discussions—not mere conspiracy theories—and appear in mainstream discourse.

Evangelical Christian Zionist theology holds that Jews must gather in Israel, the Third Temple must be built, and then Jesus will return. In that eschatological vision, those who do not accept Christianity—including Jews—face destruction.

Thus, in that theological framework, Jews are not merely allies but participants in a prophetic drama.

Whether these theological motivations directly drive policy is debated—but such beliefs undeniably exist.

Consider the broader strategic alignment: the Abraham Accords normalized relations between Israel and several Arab states, isolating Iran diplomatically.

So who designed this long-term plan? Why now?

Perhaps geopolitics and religious symbolism are intersecting.

Potential Scenarios and Global Repercussions

Let’s consider possible scenarios.

If Iran collapses internally—

Recent years saw major protests in Iran, reportedly the largest since 1979. A regime collapse could create a power vacuum, as seen in Iraq after Saddam, Libya after Gaddafi, Syria after civil war—often leading to chaos rather than stability.

If Iran destabilizes, Russia and China may seek influence in Central Asia and the Gulf.

The Strait of Hormuz carries roughly 25% of global seaborne oil. Even partial disruption would spike oil prices globally. Bangladesh, heavily reliant on imported energy, would feel immediate economic pressure—electricity shortages, industrial slowdown, impact on garments exports, and employment.

A war thousands of miles away can heat your own kitchen.

Strategists warn that a cornered state can act unpredictably—through maritime disruption, cyber warfare, or proxy escalation.

Russia remains engaged in Ukraine. China watches Taiwan. If either sees opportunity or necessity, escalation could widen.

Would that mean World War III? No one knows.

History’s greatest shifts were rarely predicted.

Few foresaw the Iranian Revolution in 1979, the Soviet collapse in 1989, the Arab Spring in 2010.

Speculation about Imam Mahdi or apocalyptic timelines remains speculation. In Islam, claiming knowledge of the unseen is forbidden.

But the deeper question is not whether the Mahdi will come soon. The question is: are we prepared spiritually?

Guidance for Believers in Uncertain Times

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that in times of hardship, holding onto faith would carry immense reward.

Surah Al-Kahf offers four shields against four trials: faith, wealth, knowledge, and power.

Strengthen your family. Verify information before sharing. Avoid becoming part of misinformation.

Empires have always believed they were permanent—Nimrod, Pharaoh, Rome, Britain. None remained.

Leaders today also believe they are shaping history.

But the Qur’an reminds: “They plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.” (Qur’an 3:54)

So what should a believer do?

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If the Hour comes while one of you has a sapling in his hand, let him plant it.”

That is a philosophy of hope.

World War III may come—or may not.

But your responsibility remains the same: return to Allah. Maintain integrity. Preserve your faith.

The greatest tragedy is to worry about global events while neglecting one’s own soul.

The greatest success is to meet your Lord with a purified heart.

Tonight, before you sleep, pray two rak‘ahs and say:

“O Allah, I do not know what tomorrow holds. I do not know how much of this world remains. But I know You exist. And if You are with me, I need nothing else. Stay with me, and make me Yours.”

Whoever can say this sincerely is prepared—for any time, any trial.

The world may be changing.

But Allah has not changed.

And for the one who turns to Him, the final outcome is always good.
