Indian-origin AI expert Suchir Balaji dies mysteriously in California. He worked with AI, or artificial intelligence. He was associated with the OpenAI organization for four years. Suchir spoke against the organization recently. After that his body was recovered from the flat. Initially, the police consider it to be a case of suicide.

Suchir 26 joined the OpenAI organization in November 2020. He worked there as a researcher till August 2024. Currently the most popular artificial intelligence application is ChatGPT. This chatgpty is created by OpenAI. Elon Musk and Sam Altman co-founded the company in 2015. Musk later left the company in 2018.

Musk’s conflict with OpenAI owner Altman is well known. After Suchir’s death, Musk made a significant post. Sharing the news of death on social media, he wrote only one word—’Hmm.”.

Suchir lived in an apartment on Buchanan Street in San Francisco. The police said that his body was recovered from there on November 26. The news came to light on Saturday. San Francisco spokesman Robert Ruecka said Suchir’s death was initially believed to be a suicide. Because the initial investigation did not find any evidence of conspiracy.

Suchir spoke out against OpenAI. He publicly claimed that his company was violating copyright laws. Suchir also claimed that technologies like ChatGPT are harming the internet. In an interview given to the New York Times, he said that he had to leave the company.

Suchir worked on ChatGPT for over a year and a half. His mysterious death has sparked fresh speculation after he spoke out against the organization. The post of the mask fueled the controversy.
